Rocked Out Pasta Casserole
|
Use homemade pasta sauce if possible! But if you don't have time use some good quality store bought stuff.

|
1 1/2 - 2 lbs Ground Beef 4-6 cloved of finely minced garlic 1 tsp salt 32oz spaghetti sauce 8oz cream cheese, softened 1/2 pint sour cream 1 cup chopped white onion 10-16oz pasta, cooked*** 1 cup or so mozzarella 1 tsp dried basil 1 tsp dried oregano
|

|
1. Brown the ground beef. Drain. Add garlic and saute for another minute or so. Then add the salt, basil, oregano, and spaghetti sauce. Simmer for 20-30 minutes until sauce has thickened. Remove from heat.
2. While step one is happening boil your noodles according to directions. I use about 12oz of ziti pasta. If you use smaller pasta you will need more, larger pasta you need less.
3. Mix together your cream cheese and sour cream until smooth. Put the mixture into a pastry bag of a big Ziploc bag and set aside.
4. Spray a 9x13 inch pan with oil. Now start the layering. 1/3 of the sauce, 1/2 of the noodles, 1/2 of the cream cheese mixture, 1/2 mozzarella cheese. Continue until ingredients are gone.
*To do the sour cream from a baggie clip the corners off and squirt mixture out in lines across the casserole or do little blobs.
5. Bake at 350 degrees uncovered for 30 minutes or until sauce bubbles.
6. Remove from oven, cover, and let it set for 10-15 minutes before serving. Serve as you would lasagna. Make a batch of garlic bread too if you want! It goes great with this recipe.
